Does it matter which 3D software you are experienced in to get hired by companies

It looks like a lot of apparel companies are gearing up for 3D and hiring internal staff. I am currently working as a freelance 3D designer and I am a self taught CLO user of almost 3 years.

I am considering if I need to get training in another brand software just to be more appealing to get hired by companies. However which additional software would I choose? It would be so expensive to get licenses for several of the 3D software offerings out there and accredited training programs are also quite costly. Plus several of the 3D platforms don’t have an affordable solution for single user.

Or is there not the expectation that I am well versed in several 3D software platforms? Is it still a competitive edge to be skilled in at least one 3D software and the company is willing to train you for whatever platform they use?
